Dole Food's 5-A-Day   This Web site teaches children excellent nutrition information in a fun and lively manner. Students can browse through the fruit newsroom, get great nutritious recipes, and much more. This site also has a section about how teachers can help their students make wise food choices.

Games Kids Play   This Web site offers the "official rules" of all different games for elementary school children to play. In fact, there are 38 games listed, from Duck-Duck-Goose to Tag.

Interactive Patient, The   Here's an interactive Web program that allows students to imagine what it's like to be a doctor. Using the program, students get to examine an imaginary patient who complains of back pain. Your students can ask him questions, take x-rays, make a diagnosis, and prescribe medicine. While this site is mainly designed for older medical students, it's an ideal way to introduce younger students to the world of medicine.

Junior Links  A site built for kids, their parents, and the dedicated people who facilitate, coordinate and sponsor programs for junior golf and the future of the game.

Kidnetics   Kidnetic.com is a Web site that communicates healthy eating and active living information in meaningful and relevant ways to kids aged 9-12 and their families. Kidnetic.com is intended to encourage kids and their families to begin the process of behavior change toward healthy lifestyles. Kidnetic.com is the first component of ACTIVATE, a healthy eating and active living initiative. ACTIVATE is committed to promoting healthy family lifestyles to help prevent kids from becoming significantly overweight and to reduce their risk of suffering from obesity-related chronic diseases as adults.

Kids Health  This site helps parents, children, and professionals find answers to commonly asked health questions. Topics include the benefits of different types of vitamins, the food pyramid, healthy children's recipes, how to read food labels, and keeping fit. Children can also submit their own questions. Check out the "Childhood Infections" section under "Parents" for information about appendicitis, meningitis, mumps, and more. For a good laugh, be sure to read the entry for that most common of all childhood afflictions, cooties. A great site but be patient this site may take a little longer to download.

Kids Quiz  A fun, daily quiz designed for kids between the ages of 8 and 18

KidSource   Geared to parents and teachers, this site offers a wealth of information covering all aspects of a child's health, from newborn to sixth grade. An activities section contains lesson plans for basic fitness.

LD Online's Kid Zone   A special place on the Web where learning-disabled students of all ages can play and learn. Users can browse student creations, or post their own art work, poems, fiction, and articles for Kid Zone magazine. Includes activities that teach students about famous people with learning disabilities, and a reading activity to help students understand what it's like to have a reading disability.

Nutrition Camp   Kellogg's brings this fun and healthy site to the Web for students and their teachers. Interactive games hold attention and share the basics of nutrition with your class. See the "Learning Lab" for activities dealing with the food pyramid and deciphering food labels.

PE Central   A comprehensive Web site designed especially for physical education teachers, students, and parents. You'll find classroom teacher lesson plans with physical education components, assessment ideas, information on equipment purchasing, health lesson ideas, links to PE-related mailing lists, "instant" PE activities, conference information, and "Top" Web site links.

Sports Illustrated for Kids 

Sports Science  Learn how different sports really work from the scientific point of view. Included are baseball, surfing, skateboarding, etc. Lots of really cool stuff located at the Exploratorium Site.
